Butterflies go bananas for this fabulous drought tolerant native of Northern California north to Washington & Idaho. Creamy white to buttery yellow, 2-3” wide, flat clusters of dense blooms appear late-Spring through Summer on sturdy 20-30” stems, emerging from a 1’ wide basal clump of handsome dark-green, arrow shaped foliage. The undersides of the leaves are covered with a downy white fuzz. Super easy to grow & needs no supplemental water after the first year. Because of its low, mat forming habit, this valuable habitat plant also makes a great groundcover for tough spots & dry slopes when massed. Thrives in nutrient poor soils!
