NEW and BLUE for you Echium lovers! Looking very much like a dwarf version of Echium fastuosum “Pride of Madeira”, this rare and endangered species – also from the Canary Islands – tops out at only 3’ tall and 3’ across, so it’s easier to place in smaller gardens. In early Spring it produces a multitude of 18” flower spikes on its multiple branches for an impressive display of erect spires. The startling cobalt blue blooms with pink stamens are always stunning. Forms a super sturdy multi-branching evergreen dome-shaped shrub. Thrives in poor, well-drained soil. Drought tolerant and deer resistant. Hummers and bees! Self sows.
