Penstemon campanulatus

Penstemon campanulatus Penstemon campanulatus

A long-time favorite of our head propagator Anni Jensen, this exuberant, compact Penstemon blooms Summer thru Fall with NO SUMMER WATER. Native to Mexico, it presents an almost continuous display of delightful flaring lavender & white blooms emerging from purple buds – pretty! Long lived with only Winter rains to sustain it, it makes a dense 2’x 2’ compact mound of rich green linear leaves. Hummers! Side-dress with 1” compost in Spring for most bountiful bloom. Cut back to 6" tall in Winter. Nice in containers, too!
