Helleborus orientalis
‘True Love’

This gorgeous double hellebore from the Wedding Party TM series will instantly change your thinking that there's nothing colorful for shade. Sporting large (3.5”) true double flowers of the richest burgundy, this is one hellebore with that wow factor. The lightly nodding flowers appear in great numbers on mature plants, their golden centers a delicate contrast to the petals. Flowers first appear in early spring, with each bloom holding onto its color for 2 weeks. Blooming can extend to 3 months on mature specimens. This Lenten rose isn't fussy. Give it a bit of morning or late afternoon sun, fertile, well-drained soil and the occasional bit of fertilizer and it will reward you with flowers for many years to come. It looks great planted in drifts but can also be used as a focal point in a decorative container. Remove old foliage in November to promote new leaves in December. Cut flowers add charm when floated in a bowl of water. Deer resistant.
