Zauschneria californica 'Pink' This pink blooming variety of our CA native Zauschneria produces an abundance of slender, 1” long pink-as-you-please flowers during a long period in Summer and Fall. An absolute hummingbird magnet, the tubular flowers are also highly sought after by a variety of local bees. It produces a thicket of velvety soft, grayish-green foliage to 18” high and spreads up to 4’ wide, making it excellent as a high groundcover, or for spilling over a retaining wall or large container. Drought tolerant, low-maintenance, and tough as nails! Plant in fertile, well-drained soil (not clay). Prune to shape and cut back to 4” high in Winter to spur new Spring growth. Needs very little water once established. |
