This double form from famed Hellebore hybridizer Hans Hansen's 'The Wedding Party' series is one of the most striking Lenten Roses on the market! One look at the perfectly patterned  layers of burgundy petals, each trimmed handsomely in white, & you'll forget that this is one of those hard working shade plants that people take for granted. Budding around Xmas time then flowering from late January through late March, specimens produce a steady show of 3” flowers sure to catch everyone's eye! This hellebore wants some relief from midday sun but otherwise can handle some morning or later day sun. It also flourishes in bright shade. Use to bring some pop to a shady bed or feature it in a container to show off its winter color. Cut back old leaves to the ground in November to allow handsome new leaves. Benefits from a little regular water in the growing season. Cold hardy. Deer resistant but tender young leaves may be eaten by snails. One look at these flowers & you won't be “forced” to add one or more to your garden!
