One of our most exciting introductions for 2018! Brilliant, show-stopping ever-silver foliage make this fast-growing shrub a diva of the low-water garden. When happy it can grow as much as 5’ tall and over 6’ wide in just a few years(!) forming a dense mound of fuzzy, metallic foliage and stems. The camphor-scented oil produced by the aromatic leaves is much prized and has a wide range of beneficial and medicinal uses. In mid-Summer, it produces numerous tight clusters of lightly fragrant, bright yellow “button” flowers held just above the foliage. The blooms are exceptionally long-lasting, both fresh and dried. Drought tolerant and deer resistant, this South African native is easy to grow in well-draining soil. Prune back lightly after flowering for best form and to discourage woodiness.
