Dianthus caryophyllus

Dianthus caryophyllus Single Black

Drama-rama! MASSES of star-shaped, deepest crimson flowers richly scented of cloves appear late Spring all the way thru Summer! Held high above the foliage on 2’ tall upright, sturdy stems - the blooms open with a vivid cranberry heart then darken to a rich, chocolaty hue. So sumptuous! Plus they make wonderfully long-lasting cut flowers for fragrant bouquets. Forms a weed suppressing mat of blue-green foliage only 6” high, spreading to about 2’ wide. Provide good drainage and compost annually for best health. Great in a container (5 gal.+).
