Undoubtedly the “IT” Salvia of the past few years, we thank Argentine Salvia expert Rolando Uria for this stunning discovery. Congenial in a mixed border with its attractive and well-branched, upstanding and bushy 4’ x 4’ habit, you get an amazingly LONG BLOOM season for something so gorgeous – from late Spring thru Fall! Shiny midnight calyces accent the sumptuous 2” royal purple tubular flowers on large, graceful 8-10” upright spikes. Easy and quick to bloom, even while small, you’ll want to give it compost enriched, well-drained soil. Hummingbirds adore it, too! Attractive, rich green foliage. Evergreen in USDA zones 9, it’s hardy to zone 8 and definitely worth growing as an annual in colder climes just to see those flowers! Deer resistant.
