Fragaria chiloensis 'Carole Ann' "Beach Strawberry" Fragaria chiloensis 'Carole Ann' "Beach Strawberry"

A beautiful NATIVE beach strawberry with huge 2” wide white flowers and super showy shiny leaves (often red during the winter). A 2015 introduction from the Tilden Botanic Garden - we are delighted to make it more widely available. Found in the dunes at Bodega Bay, it grows beautifully in well-drained garden conditions. A vigorous groundcover - runners form a 4” tall dense mat; good for filling in between rocks, on the borders of your garden or as a slope stabilizer. Very drought tolerant once established. Wonderful in a container or HANGING BASKET. Blooms vigorously in Spring followed by red-seeded white berries.
