Though this dazzling shrublet is native to high elevations, rocky soil and the cold Winters of CA, OR and WA (heads up mountain gardeners), we were surprised to find it adapts very well to our mild 9b climate, too. With a compact habit 16” tall x 2’ wide, brilliantly saturated magenta pink, tubular blooms burst out in Spring, attracting hummers. Though drought tolerant, ours does very well with regular water and blooms a second time in late Winter. Does well in milder parts of Northeastern US. Evergreen. Provide excellent drainage or grow in a container. Hardy to -14°F!
