We here at “Annie’s” just can’t get enough species of this rare and fascinating genus in the mint family. Endemic to Tenerrife Island (the Canaries) it enjoys a Mediterranean climate very much like ours here in coastal California. Thriving in dry Summers and mild Winters, Sideritis oroteneriffae forms a fuzzy white leafed shrub to 3’ tall. Providing excellent contrast in the well-drained garden, rock garden or largish container, you’ll love the showy pubescent oval shaped leaves. Grow it in front of dark foliage for extra thrills. In Summer it bears slender, arching fuzzy whitish spikes.
