Eschscholzia californica ssp. maritima
'Coastal Form'

Not the common California poppy everyone is familiar with but a superior coastal form well worth adding to your garden or parking strip. Distinctively bluish and compact feathery foliage forms a lower, tighter mound only 6-8” tall and 12” across that stays neat and tidy throughout the season. It blooms longer than all the rest, too, (Spring thru Fall) with cheery, bowl shaped, sunny yellow flowers with showy orange centers. Perfectly partnered here with Nemophila menziesii ‘Snow White’. Drought tolerant and deer resistant! Self-sows. Short lived perennial (if kept dry) USDA zone 9-10, annual otherwise.
