Achillea ageratum
'Moonwalker'

Don’t pass this Yarrow by ‘cause it’s yellow or “just” an Achillea folks – this is one heck of a fantastic plant! SO DIFFERENT than the commonly known species A. millefolium, this workhorse is EVERGREEN with shiny bright green fragrant foliage on dense branching stems. Almost EVERBLOOMING here in zone 10a (it blooms late Spring thru Fall in harsher climates) with substantial and textural dense umbels of golden yellow 3” across. Highly attractive to butterflies, super easy to grow, not fussy about soil or water and heat and wind, snail and deer resistant as well. As an extra bonus you get nice cut flowers that dry well, too. I am highly impressed with ‘Moonwalker’ and you will be, too! Perfect for those who want something that “blooms all the time!”

Bomarea species
"Climbing Alstroemeria'

We’re pleased as punch to offer these choice, rare seed-grown plants even though we’re not quite sure what species they are or even what color the flowers are going to be, as the seed came without these details attached. Flowers are held in large, generally pendulous clusters of many flowers at a time and they’re most likely some fiery combination of red, yellow & orange with spotted throats. Bomareas are luxuriantly vigorous & gloriously tropical once established (provided you keep the roots cool & the tops in a decent amount of sun). They also prefer regular water and certainly don't mind good, well drained soil. Like their Alstroemeria friends, they really aren’t all that fussy. Tops die back to tuberous roots in Winter. Provide the support of a largish trellis. Can be brought indoors in colder zones.
Part Sun/Part Shade.
Regular water.
Perennial Vine.

Ipomopsis rubra
"Skyrocket"

Especially nice for you folks in hotter areas! When “Skyrocket” goes into bloom here in the nursery everyone wants it – so enamored are they by its brilliant scarlet tubular blooms held in very large spikes to 3’ tall. Native to the Southwestern U.S. including Florida, Texas and Louisiana, now is the time to plant it for the biggest showiest show. This hummingbird magnet loves heat and well-drained soil and is drought tolerant once established. Before it blooms, the foliage is lovely as well as soft and ferny and finely divided. The flowers began in June and will last until Fall. Will self-sow if happy.

Lathyrus odorata
'Marion'

Very difficult to come by and one of my favorite Sweet Peas, ‘Marion’ is a Spencer-type and so has the largest loveliest wavy petalled lavender flowers. Happily, it’s deliciously fragrant and a heavy bloomer, too. Spencer Sweet Peas bloom a bit later than many of our other heirloom varieties – well into Summer, so they are best suited to temperate Summer climate regions such as ours! Superb cut flowers of course and they self-sow with abandon so you’ll have stunning bouquets each and every year. Give them rich soil, something to climb on and shaded roots for best show. And don’t forget to bait for snails!
