Salvia apiana
“White Sage”

Beautiful stiff, silver foliage makes this a very attractive & useful shrub for the sunny, dry garden. It grows 4’ tall & 4’ wide & the foliage is wonderfully aromatic. The Native Americans used the fresh or dried leaves in rituals & it is now commonly used in smudge sticks. A tea made from the leaves is an herbal remedy for cold & congestion & honey bees absolutely adore it. Many 3’ flower spikes with white flowers appear in Spring. You should prune these after bloom to encourage compactness. Good drainage is a must.
