Solanum
aethiopicum
“African eggplant”
For rare fruit growers: this rarely grown member
of the tomato family grows 2.5’ tall and bears fruits varying
in shape (oval& round) and color (white, striped and green
- turning red or orange when ripe). The fruits are “edible,”
having a long history of consumption in West Africa. It is recommended
you harvest them (for eating or cooking) before they turn red.
Otherwise, you can let them mature for ornamental value. Grow
like a tomato.
