Lopezia racemosa
'Pink Brush'
"Mosquito Flower"
This is a delightful perennial, or sub-shrub, ground cover that has the cutest flower. It looks like a mosquito flying straight at you. This variety is salmon with lavender & red markings. The flower is 3/4" wide & is produced prolifically all year (except Dec. and Jan.). Rare, unusual and charming - it's very easy to grow (best in part shade) and takes average to low water. Grows in poor soil. 12 - 18" and 2 - 4' spread. Nice for dry banks, under trees, garden corners, hanging over walls, or in a container hanging over a balcony. The End!
Perennial in USDA zones 10-11, annual elsewhere.
