Leonotis nepetifolia
"Annual Lion’s Ear"
“Naivasha Apricot”

Spiny whorls of soft apricot-orange fuzzy flowers are held atop tall erect stems that remind me of a crows nest on the mast of a ship. A super magnet for hummingbirds & butterflies, the hummingbirds will sip for as long as ten seconds or more from one flower. Growing rapidly to 4’-8’ tall-but slender in width, it looks pretty behind Salvias & Buddleias. Fun in cut flower arrangements too. “Annual Lion’s Ear” reseeds easily & may naturalize.
