Helenium puberulum
“Rosilla”
Your friends might think you’re nuts for growing this California native perennial commonly found along streamsides - well, because its hard to see the petals. But really, it’s quite charming. The airy branching stems are topped by round balls of tiny flowers wearing a very short skirt of small petals below. AND it’s an important nectar source for the “Painted Lady” butterfly. So there you go! Fun as a cut flower, too. To 3’ tall. |
