Clarkia breweri
Coming soon to a perfume store near you! This is the only Clarkia that
is scented and boy, is it a great scent! We had a couple of these potted
up in the back of the nursery to collect seed off of and the fragrance
was so incredible I had to keep wandering back there to take deep breaths.
And it’s such a cute plant too! The pendant red buds of this annual
open to vibrant pink flowers. The petals are fringed but line up to
form an overall square flower. Flowers April through June and gets to
be about 8” tall and 1’ wide. Found on dry slopes of California,
so provide good drainage. Should reseed. Fragrance is being developed
in the perfume industry.
