“Family Jewels Tree”
This small, tree-like perennial from Jamaica & South America is sure to inspire giggles. It’s in the Milkweed family & grows 4-6’ tall. The flowers are cute & white but it’s the seed pods that are well, uh, . . . “showy.” They are balloon-like, about 1.5 to 2” across, translucent lime green, & have little spines sticking out. Though humorous, I think they would make excellent landscaping plants as they are fast growing, trouble free, have a nice “lollipop” form & are DROUGHT TOLERANT. Poor soil is fine. Annie
