A perfectly pleasing small garden tree, “Chinese Quince” grows from 10-25’ tall, with a twiggy, spreading crown, & an upright but branching habit. Easy to grow and long lived, its charming Spring show of singe, pink flowers is sure to delight. Large, fragrant fruit follows in the Autumn, & is pear-like in size & color, but is only edible in the context of jams. Semi-deciduous, with the leaves turning a brilliant gold when the weather turns, this tree prefers moist soils, & keeps its attractively peeling, puzzle-textured bark all year round. Medium-slow growth.
