Beet (Beta vulgaris) 'Chioggia

Among the sweetest of beets with an 8% sugar level – it’s perfect converting supposed beet-haters! Also known as the “Candystripe” & “Bulls Eye” beet because of its distinctive red & white alternating rings, this Italian HEIRLOOM variety is still popular after over 150 years! A real beauty sliced, grated, or pickled. Roasting them whole also preserves the colorful rings. Best planted between February & August in good garden soil. Space 3” apart. Harvest at 2” diameter for best flavor.
