Salvia mexicana
'Huntington Garden'

These are seedlings from a clone of Salvia mexicana (Huntington Garden). The clone produced large, deep blue flowers, extended horizontally in whorls from a black calyx, on 12” to 20” spikes. Salvia mexicana is a big boy, growing 6’-8’ tall and wide-though can be cut back in Summer to form a shorter blooming plant. Very multi-branching, it bears lovely heart-shaped leaves of a rich green color. Blooms Fall thru Spring. Loved by hummingbirds of course!
