What we have here is a pineapple scented CA native annual that blooms from mid Summer to Fall (pretty darn unusual), right when so many native bloomers are just a memory. Countless,2" large and showy, long-rayed, red ringed brightest yellow blooms burst into a cloud 3' across atop 4' multi-branching stems - quite a display! PLUS it's an important late season nectar source for bees and butterflies.
