Trifolium ciliolatum
“Tree Clover”

Check your stereotypes - is this the clover you see in lawns? Nay! It is not! It’s a charming native wildflower, not a common weed. It is also a friend of bees & edible to boot. Rosy pink flowers accompany green tri-lobed leaves that are often creased with dark purple. Upright in habit, it blooms March through June & then goes down for the count. Hard to say what the dimensions will be in a garden setting, but I’m guessing about 2’ high & about as wide. It’s not a tree. Don’t believe the hype. Probably not a reseeder, but let us know if yours does! Leaves, stems and flowers make a tasty snack!
