Primula veris ‘Sunset Shades’

One of my favorite Primroses & that’s saying a lot! Super long lived, tough & adaptable, this cultivated form of Primula veris is as sweet as its wild parents, but with a bit more color & pizzazz. Reds & oranges mixed with yellows, make up the range shown in the flowers, which are borne through Spring on 8-10” stems. Over time, the plant will spread to make a small colony of rosettes. Sweetly scented, the flowers can be cut & brought inside or left on the plant for the bees & butterflies. Primula veris is common throughout Europe & found along roadsides & in meadows. In low water situations, the plant will go completely dormant during the Summer. You know what that means - DRY SHADE! Hurrah! If watered during the Summer, it will remain evergreen.
