Tritonia duesta

A fiery jewel from the Iris family, this petite South African bulb has red orange blossoms that are large (to 2”) for its short stature (10-16” tall when blooming.) Most have a shiny black dot on each alternating tepal. Bloom time is mid-late Spring – March or April here at the nursery. Tritonias return reliably & increase in the garden yearly, so as the years go by you'll have a larger clump & more & more flowers! They also make great cut flowers – I'd keep this one in small bouquets to showcase its great details. Summer dry? Fine! If you irrigate that's fine too. Poor soil is fine as well. Great in pots.
