Geum magellanicum

Straight from a seed collector in Chile, this mucho-tough, long-lived, low-maintenance perennial will win you over. Endearing scarlet-orange flowers may be 1” small, but are mighty in number & just keep coming Spring thru mid-Summer on 3’ stems, especially with deadheading. Dark, soft seed heads persist & add interest after the petals fall & the leaves are handsome even when the plant is not in bloom. To 30” high & wide with a tidy low, 1’ mound of rich shiny & toothed green foliage. Best in well-drained soil with some compost added.
