Aquilegia caerulea ‘Rose Queen’

Aquilegia caerulea ‘Rose Queen’ Aquilegia caerulea ‘Rose Queen’

‘Rose Queen’ is a recent addition to our selection of Rocky Mountain Columbines.  The flowers retain the wonderful long spurs of its wild parent, but the color is now an intensely dark rose contrasted with white. It makes a great cut flower & with its vigorous upright habit & natural look flower, it would make a nice addition to both a woodland garden & a sunny rock garden. Flowers are 2” across with characteristic long spurs, atop 2’ stems, & like its relatives, it will bloom all Spring long. Foliage spreads to about 2’. Cut back & top dress with compost when your plant looks tired!
