Corydalis elata
New and exciting! A far superior plant than
the Corydalis flexuosa varieties like ‘Blue Panda”, that have been all the
rage in recent years. These varieties bore fantastic blue flowers, but,
unfortunately were hard to grow, went dormant in Summer, and were very short
lived. Well praise the god of blue flowers, because here comes Corydalis
elata from Mt. Omei, China, bearing even prettier, bright, cobalt blue
flowers and is EASY to Grow. Reaching a nice 2’-3’ by 15” spread, its
profusion of beautiful, flower clusters are held above the attractive
foliage, which DOES NOT GO DORMANT! Extremely vigorous and long-lived, it
blooms longer-from May to July and is EXTREMELY FRAGRANT, often described as
a clear combination of Gardenia and coconut. What more could you ask for!
Reseeding? Yes it reseeds easily too! Do give Corydalis elata rich, loamy,
moist soil. |
