Ceanothus x pallidus ‘Marie Simon’

Ceanothus x pallidus 'Marie Simon' Ceanothus x pallidus ‘Marie Simon’

Such a useful shrub & yet, it’s hardly known! An East Coast - West Coast Ceanothus hybrid, 'Marie Simon' is easy going, cold hardy, tough & adaptable to both clay soil & poor soil. How nice that it blooms repeatedly from Summer thru Fall with a profusion of fluffy, scented, light pink, 3" panicles on showy, contrasting, wine red stems that remain interesting - even when it goes deciduous in Winter. With a nice, bushy habit, it’s great in a mixed bed, dry bed or filler in a rose garden. It can reach 5' x 5' but you can cut it back hard in Winter for a shorter silhouette. Butterflies! Deer resistant! Hardy to 5° F.
