| Callirhoe bushii
“Bush’s Poppy Mallow”
Saturated & lively color on a tough & long blooming
plant, this Callirhoe sounds just as delightful as the other
species from this genus that we’ve grown before. It’s
very similar to the sturdy & beautiful Callirhoe involucrata,
with 2” magenta cup-shaped flowers, but instead of sprawling,
it’s upright - to 3’ tall & wide. It tolerates
drought, but will grow bigger & faster with supplemental
water. This hardy, easy, long lived perennial prefers well
drained soil with some amendment, & would combine perfectly
with fiery oranges & reds. This Callirhoe species is native
to the Midwestern states.
