| Myosotis palustris
(syn. Myosotis scorpiodes)
“Water Forget-Me-Not”
Forget-me-nots pepper my earliest garden memories, & will always be a plant that evokes feelings of nostalgia even though I know it’s a terrible weed! This perennial species is more well-behaved than its rowdy sister Myosotis sylvestris, & longer & later blooming, too! Growing to just about one foot wide & one foot tall, it’s suitable for the well watered border, in moist, shady places, or in the water garden. May & June are its months to bloom – the baby blue flowers unfurl from spiral clusters of buds. What a sweetie! Great for bees, & a suitable groundcover for damp areas.
