| Sisyrinchium hyb.
‘Devon Skies’
Shorter growing, with a larger & longer bloom than our native “Blue Eyed Grass”, ‘Devon Skies’ is one hybrid we had to try! Well mannered, LOW MAINTENANCE, & a highly reliable perennial, this little charmer from the Iris family forms upright, grassy tufts to about 5” tall & 6” across that are nice looking Spring through Fall. From March through July it bears large (bigger than the species) spritely blue star-shaped blooms with a dark violet ring surrounding a yellow eye. Plant it at the edge of a garden bed, or in a rock garden. It’s nice in a container, & delightful as a path edging. It doesn’t require a densely fertile soil to thrive, & since it’s a hybrid, it doesn’t seed around. Annie |
