| Veronica porphyriana
I’m mighty impressed with this very rare, cold hardy, low and matting Veronica from Siberia (!) and eastern and central Asia. A cinch to grow in well-drained soil, it forms a good looking dense prostrate and slowly creeping mat of deep green roundish leaves. From Spring thru Fall you get a continuous display of the most intensely hued purple-blue upright flower spikes 6-8” tall. Tough and reliable, this wonderful new-to-cultivation “Speedwell” makes a superb, colorful and compact edging for rock gardens, pathways and raised beds, and hey, the butterflies will SO love you!
