| Scuttelaria baicalensis
“Chinese Skullcap” “Huang-Qin”

A showy & easy to grow member of the Mint family native to Eastern Asia, “Chinese Skullcap” has long been used in Chinese medicine for calming the nervous system, treating headaches, colds & more. The largest flowered skullcap we’ve grown with beautiful 1” two-tone flaring tubular blooms – it’s quite the prolific bloomer with flowering season occurring from July-September, just when blues are hard to come by. Growing from 8”-2’ tall, it forms a little bushy guy with attractive mid-green lance shaped leaves. Nice as edging, trailing from the front of a bed & often used in rock gardens. Cut back after flowering. Well-drained soil.
