Viola labradorica purpurea
“Labrador Violet”

Viola labradorica purpurea “Labrador Violet” Viola labradorica purpurea “Labrador Violet”

A companionable plant that has no qualms with making itself at home most anywhere. Invasive you say? Nay! We shall describe it as vigorous. It reseeds, it’s true, but it’s such a demure little plant & its purple heart-shaped leaves offset many other plants so nicely. I plant it in the garden to space gaps, decorate rockeries & edge shady pathways. The seedlings come out easily if you don’t desire more. This plant will grow almost anywhere but prefers light shade & regular water. The little purple flowers appear in Spring, shy away in the heat of Summer & return again in the Fall. Grows 4-6” tall & as wide as you want it to fill in!
