Tibouchina heteromala
“Purple Glory Bush”

A plant that has gotten much attention in our nursery when it is in bloom. A relative of the more commonly grown “Princess Flower”, T. heteromala has darker & bluer flowers which are nicely set off by the red flower stems. Each flower spike gets to be 18” long with many blooms on each one. Blooms summer through Fall. In addition to the flowers is the nice foliage. Bold, felty leaves are covered with soft hairs that give the plant a silvery sheen in some lights. Fast growing to 10’ tall & 5-8’ wide. From Brazil.
