Orthrosanthus multiflorus
“Morning Flag”

Orthrosanthus multiflorus “Morning Flag” Orthrosanthus multiflorus “Morning Flag”

Easy, tough & good looking year around, this rare member of the Iris family blooms in Summer, bearing lots of 1-1/2” star-shaped wedgewood blue flowers atop upright spikes. With its fairly dense clump of strap-like evergreen foliage, it retains its attractiveness all year, making a nice foliage clump even when not in bloom. Native to Australia as well as tropical America, it is also drought tolerant, only requiring an occasional deep watering during extended heat spells to keep it looking swell. Rich, well-drained soil for best show & makes a fine container plant too. To 2’ tall & across.
