Ixia monadelpha
“Wand Flowers”

Noted for its color variability, this native bulb of the South African Cape creates quite the dazzling display in March and April. The six-petalled star-shaped flowers vary in color from white to pink to purple and have a darker center encircled with a second contrasting color. The blooms, 6-12 at a time, are crowded atop several slender spreading stalks and open during sunny weather. Easy to grow in a summer-dry well-drained garden or in a container which you can set aside during the dormant Summer season. Will multiply each year. To 12-18" high.
