Puya mirabilis

A Puya for a small garden! And, happily, the quickest to bloom – about a year after planting. Elegant, flaring, lime green bells held in fuzzy purple-grey calyxes – up to 15 per stem – are nicely displayed on stiff upright 3’ stems. Compact & carefree foliar rosettes like a mop-like haircut to only 10-12” tall & 20” across. Bolivian native. Refreshingly unusual in any well drained garden or container! Like all Puyas, it’s very tough, drought tolerant, deer resistant & attracts hummingbirds! Hardy to 20 degrees.
