Totally textural & fabulous! Melianthus pectinatus makes a wonderful backdrop, sporting finely divided, graceful, grey-green foliage & reaching heights of 6-10’ tall on sturdy stout stems. Not fussy about soil type, as long as it remains moist, it blooms more profusely when grown in poor soil. Tolerates wind but not sea spray. In late Winter & early Spring, scarlet blooms appear that transform into super showy, downy inflated seed pods making totally fun & fab material for flower arrangers.
