Indigofera pseudotinctoria
This little shrub from East Asia has delicate, lacy foliage that grows quickly to about 2-3’ tall. The clusters of pea flowers are pink & remind me of Wisteria blossoms growing upwards instead of hanging down. It flowers in late Summer to Fall, just when the garden can use a little punch. It is a nitrogen fixing plant, which means it can attract atmosphere nitrogen to the soil & make it available not only to its own roots, but to the plants around it. Best in full to part sun & moist, well-drained soil.
