Datura wrightii
“Sacred Datura”

Datura wrightii “Sacred Datura”

Another stunning member of the Datura genus. Got deer? Don’t like to water? Poor soil? This plant is for you! Multi-branching to 3’ tall & across, Datura wrightii will bloom all Summer, bearing huge, upright, flaring, white trumpets about 6” long & up to 8” across, followed by interesting 1” spiky seed pods. In the evening the flowers emit a strong, SWEET FRAGRANCE. The large, deep green leaves are attractive too & give bold textured interest in the garden. “Sacred Datura” is native to deserts of the Southwest & Mexico & so thrives in poor, hot, dry soil, as well as regular garden soil. Deciduous. Warning: Datura is poisonous!
