Helianthus mollis
“Downy Sunflower”

A pretty, perennial Sunflower native to our Midwestern States, “Downy Sunflower” bears lovely, soft, grayish green foliage covered with fine hairs. Lemony yellow, 3”- 4” flowers are borne July thru October & are highly attractive to butterflies. Goldfinches will come & devour the seeds later on. Thrives in any well-drained soil & is very drought tolerant. Place carefully as it spreads slowly by rhizomes if kept dry, faster with regular water.
