Clusters of starflowers the prettiest shade of sky blue grace this Mediterranean annual herb, and appear almost continuously through Spring, Summer and Fall. Very attractive to pollinators, especially honeybees, it is often grown as a companion plant to legumes, strawberries, spinach and brassicas and is said to assist with nutrient uptake, pest control and pollination. Leaves are sometimes used as a coolant in drinks & the flowers are edible & can be used in salads or to garnish wine. Since ancient times Borage has been regarded as having a wonderful effect on mind & body. Full sun, 2’ - 3’ tall. Any soil. Reliably reseeds itself in the garden for year after year of enjoyment.
