Dolichos lablab
(syn. Lablab purpureas)

An outstanding, beautiful fast growing vine that’s most often grown as an annual, but lives over for several years in frost-free zones. Enchanting, twining over a white picket fence or on a vertical support, it blooms May thru frost. Lotsa lovely and fragrant, lilac& purple pea- flowers are held in loose clusters and are then followed by showy shiny bright purple pods.

The purplish-green foliage is large & kind of heart shaped. It’ll grow 10’ tall as an annual, but will go on to twice that size in frost-free areas, or a green house. Collect the seeds for next year, they germinate easily-like any bean. Easy, pest-free drought tolerant once established. Loves HOT weather.
