A hardier heirloom “Flowering Maple” from Victorian times, ‘Canary Bird’ is a big fellow, reaching 8’x6’ but easily pruned to any size. Prized for its year-round bloom in USDA zones 9-10 (early Summer to frost in zone 8b), it’s a bountiful bloomer, its 3”, pendulous, bellflowers a sweet shade of lemon yellow. Large, soft, maple-like foliage. Hummers! Hardy to 6 degrees F. Loamy soil. Side-dress with compost 1-2x a year.
