Oenothera caespitosa
“Tufted Evening Primrose”

Oenothera caespitosa “Tufted Evening Primrose”

Sweet citrus scented bloomy goodness! Deliciously huge, 4” wide flowers appear en masse Spring through early Summer. Blooms open late in the afternoon & until morning, attracting night owl pollinators like moths. Petals age to pink over time. Foliage forms a cute & compact 8” high & 18” wide rosette with attractive lance shaped fuzzy leaves with funky scalloped margins. Native to the desert ranges from Southern California to Eastern Washington & Utah, Oenothera caespitosa likes poor dry well drained soil & heat doesn’t bother it one bit.  Makes an excellent addition to any dry garden!
